How we raise our puppies

At Kelley's Goldens we take pride in the extensive care we put into raising our puppies. We follow breeding programs and protocols that help puppies transition into their new home seamlessly. We go above and beyond for our puppies are care for them as they are our own until they find their forever home. We have protocols in place to ensure that the puppy is going to a safe and loving new home.
To ensure healthy puppies, it begins with healthy parents. At Kelley's Goldens we make sure that our moms are well taken care of before they become pregnant. The parents go through a series of physical tests, temperament tests, and DNA tests before they can be cleared for breeding. Completing these tests ensure that the puppies will be born healthy. We strive to be transparent with our clients to be able to give them beautiful healthy puppies.
When the puppies are born, we begin them on ENS (Early neurological stimulation) and ESI (Early scent introduction). These are started on day 3 of being born and continues to day 16. ENS is known to improve cardiovascular performance, stronger heartbeats, stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress, and greater resistance to disease. ESI improves nose awareness and confidence. When the puppies reach 3 weeks old we begin a “10 step puppy massage” every day and increase pressure weekly. We use our 10 step handling exercises to ensure our puppies are exposed to various types of touch, handling and sensation.
At 3 weeks we also begin socializing our puppies to different sounds, sights, textures, things to climb on, run through and more. We set them up to conquer physical and mental challenges every day. By doing this we build our puppies nerve strength and confidence as well as problem solving skills. Our goal is provide our puppies with a stable and enriching environment for the first 8 weeks of their lives.
At 7 weeks of age we conduct a puppy aptitude test on each individual puppy. During the test we focus on 12 important puppy temperament traits to help make sure you get a puppy that fits you, your lifestyle and your needs as well as honoring who the puppy is. Once temperament testing and vet checks are completed families will be able to watch evaluation videos and see scorecards of each puppy in order for them to make the right decision for their family on go home day.
Families on our waitlist are added to a private group chat. Throughout the 8 weeks we update the future puppy parents in the group with multiple pictures per week, and weekly video updates where we show each puppy and answer any and all questions our families may have.
